iPhone "Dark" mode.

Guys and Girls,

My recent problem is that since I've upgraded my iPhone 11 to iOS 16.3 I can't get it out of "Dark" mode. I reboot and it's ok until I enter my first app and then it goes dark again.

Any ideas?

Axel,

Ok, I followed the instructions twice and waited more than 2 minutes each time. I never got the Apple logo but the problem is solved and I'm out of the dark mode. What ever you suggested seemed to work.

Thank you very much for your help.

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

The Force Restarting procedure is most often not executed correctly. Please read the instructions carefully and try again. NOTE that there are no two buttons that are pressed simultaneously.

If the above does not work then can you tell me how far do you get in the procedure?

Axel,

You talked me into it. I just ordered an iPhone 14 Plus from T-Mobil. I deserve it! I bought Apple stock a few years ago at a cost index of $1.55. Apple doesn't owe me a thing. It's less trouble that replacing the battery. I watched the video to do it myself - no thanks.

Again, thanks for your help.

Love this forum.

Awesome! You are right that the battery is not designed to be self serviced. Did you trade in your iPhone 11 for the iPhone 14 Plus? If NOT then you can still get the battery replaced in your iPhone 11 for $69 at the Apple Store and keep it as a spare phone.
