macbook pro: any way to show the current time on screen?

with the iphone, the time is always visible clearly on the first screen or at the top.

With the macbook, the time is at the top right on the top bar, but the text is black on a black background, so is imposible to read. The other icons and text on the top bar are all white and readable by contrast.

Its really annoying having a £2000 computer which cant show me the time.

Has anyone found an app or utility which can show the time on the screen, ideally in the top bar or bottom bar?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.5

it appears that what you are experiencing is a function of "focus".

the dim clock is actually a "feature". it tells you the status of "do not disturb" at a glance.

when DND is turned on, the clock is dim.

but when it's off, the clock is bright.

but if you place the DND icon permanently on the menubar the clock will stay bright regardless of if DND is turned off or on. instead, the DND icon goes dim or bright.

DND turned on:

DND turned off:

just open control centre and drag DND from control centre and drop it on your menubar. you drag it by the text, not the icon.
