File thumbnail preview takes forever to load on column view mode in finder mac os 12.6

Is there a way to disable only the thumbnail on the preview column view mode and still see all the file info? I can't do any tasks on my computer while the thumbnail is loading. It is very annoying. If I'm not mistaken, there used to be an arrow on top that we could click, and the thumbnail would collapse.

It appears that drop down only shows up on File menu - Get Info. You can disable the preview altogether with the View menu -> Show/hide preview. But to retain the other info, you have to go to the File menu -> Get Info, which is also command-I shortcut.
