Background Apps Refresh

IPhone XR won’t turn off Background Apps Refresh for ANY app or for All Apps.

Do you have any Content & Privacy Restrictions enabled on your device?


Try go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, see if Background App Activities is marked as 'Allow'.

Please note that if Low Power Mode is activated, you can neither activate nor deactivate apps in Background App Refresh.


  • Solve it by disabling Low Power Mode, go to: Settings > Battery. Disable Low Power Mode.
