In case you are using iCloud to sync your contacts, check this article:
If you accidentally deleted your calendars, bookmarks, or contacts from iCloud - Apple Support
In case you are not using iCloud and you recently created a backup on your computer, use this backup to restore from, it also contains the contacts that were on the iPhone at that point in time.
