Can the Keyboard Pointer Control Be Switched on and Off Song the Keyboard

I know how to set the pointer to be controlled by head movements and to use the number keys on my Mac keyboard. But the problem is, when I have the pointer set to be controlled by the number keys (as an alternative option to the trackpad) they only do that. ie. they move the pointer but do not act as input keys for the numbers .I DO want to use the number keys to input numbers. Is there a way to turn that option on and off using the keyboard?

If you look at System Settings > Accessibility and scroll down to Pointer Control, you'll find that under Alternate Control Methods is a check box to enable Mouse Keys. It has an option that will allow pressing the Option key five times to toggle the feature.
