IPad mail … how do i delete the junk?

I presume that junk is auto deleted somewhere?

I have just gone through my junk checking for a message that may have gone there by accident … it was not there. However, having done this, I would like to clear the folder so that when I check again it will not be cluttered with mail that I have already reviewed.

I cannot see an obvious ‘empty’ button … where should i be looking?

thanks.

Email in your Junk folder is deleted in precisely the same manner as your other mailbox folders…

Tap the Edit button at the top-right of the message list - then either individually select messages, swipe top-to-bottom or bottom-to-top - then tap the Delete button at bottom-right of the message list.

Alternatively, for folders that have the option to do so (such as Junk), tap the Select All button at top-left, then tap Delete.

Well, your view as to a “friendly UI” may differ from others. Speaking personally, accepting that you may have an alternative opinion, I find the Mail UI to be both intuitive and flexible.
