Screenshot Settings - Can I change them from PNG to JPG on iPad?

Is it possible to change the default image type saved from PNG to JPG, or somehow reduce the file size when using the default screenshot tool? I’ve searched my Settings and Apple Support with no luck. iPad Pro iOS 16.

Screenshots don’t have a default setting - but instead will use the correct filetype for where it the screenshot is saved.


Screenshots saved to your Photo Library will be saved as JPEG - whereas screenshots saved to Files will be saved as as PNG image.


Saved images can be reduced in size using an appropriate App - or using a ShortCut:
