Error 68 while trying to revive Mac mini 2018

I'm trying to revive Mac mini (2018) and got "(AMRestoreErrorDomain, error 68 — Failed to handle message type StatusMsg (Update install not possible to this variant)) [AMRestoreErrorDomain – 0x44 (68)]"

Host is MacBook Pro M1

Could not find any information on this type of error.

Help is greatly appreciated!

The 2018 Mac mini is an Intel Mac and is not covered by the following Silicon revive and restore processes.

see "Before you begin" at > Revive or restore a Mac with Apple silicon using Apple Configurator - Apple Support

Disconnect the Mac mini/MacBook Pro, startup the 2018 Mac mini in macOS Recovery Mode.

see > Use macOS Recovery on an Intel-based Mac - Apple Support

Then follow those directions to Repair, Restore or Reinstall the macOS.

If that doesn't work, come back and report what happened.
