I bought a blocked iPhone, what should I do?

Hello, I want to ask what to do if I bought an iPhone 8 plus from the bazaar but it is blocked. it started when I went to buy it, the seller showed it to me, it looked like it was fully functional, but it didn't have updated software, when I tried to update it, it crashed every time, I went with that i want there they updated it but the iPhone was blocked by the owner I don't know what to do now I can't sell it because I would be committing a crime and in fact this should have been my first I spent all my money on the iPhone and I don't know how to prove it to you so that you believe me, but I want to know what I should do now.

Thank you for your understanding and I will hope that it will be resolved somehow Sincerely,

Robert K.

Have you bought 2nd hand iPhone?

You must contact the seller (hopefully it is the previous owner), otherwise you have been scammed.

Each Apple device is linked/associated with an Apple ID of the person who did the setup.

Activation Lock prevents anyone who is not the owner from using this iPhone.

To unlock the Phone, you need the Apple ID and password of the previous owner, that were used during set up.

So you have to contact the previous owner.

The previous owner has to read -> this Apple article: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Then the previous owner has to remove the iPhone from his account, see this Apple article:

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in

Then you can sign in with your own Apple ID.

Read this before you buy a newer iPhone.

You can also contact Apple support for help, -> Get Support (apple.com)

You have to show proof of ownership of your product, provide all documentation showing your purchase of the device.

If you do not have additional proof of ownership, contact the reseller. They may be able to provide the original purchase document.

Once Apple receive your proof of ownership, Apple will further review your request and provide an update.

Ask your moeny back if possible, prehaps you have bought a stolen iPhone.

You appear to have bought an 'Activation Locked' phone. I'm afraid that the only way to get into it is to know the ID and password used to lock it, or to contact the person who set it and ask them to remove it from their list of devices. As neither of these would appear to be an option I'm afraid there is nothing you can do. Apple can't unlock it for you without written proof of original ownership, nor locate the previous owner. Your only option is to return it to where you bought it from and demand a refund, which from the sound of it you are unlikely to get.
