Startup Disk

I had to downgrade from High Sierra to Lion on my 2011 Mac Mini. I created the external start disk, but can't transfer it over to make the Mini the startup disk... how do I do this? Having an external drive as the startup is not ideal. I haven't been able to find any articles or YouTube videos to walk me through.

Anybody?

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

When you have an operating system on an external disk as well as on your HD, you can select which OS will be your startup by opening the System Preferences/Settings app. Then click on the General link. Next click on the Startup Disk link and select which disk you wish to startup with. You will have to enter your user ID to make this change.
