External drive not showing

My external LaCie has suddenly stopped showing on the desktop. The light on the drive is on. I tried different ports and different cables. It is not "seen" in disk utility.

There seems to be an issue with all external USB devices after Ventura updates. There is a dialog that pops up asking for permission to allow an external USB device to connect, however that dialog disappears before you can act.

To fix this go to System Settings> Privacy & Security > Allow accessories to connect and select the option for Automatically When Unlocked

This will allow the disk to connect without needing that dialog box.
