Troubleshooting Google Prompts:
A. Apps Requiring Password Entry:
Any apps running that you can think of that would require a login? Something particular to Google? The Gmail app would require this. As for the Mail app, that would require an app password. Go here: Sign in Using App Passwords - Gmail Help - Google Support
B. Close All Apps:
Swipe your finger up from the bottom-left corner of the screen. Then, swipe up to close each app one-at-a-time.
C. Single-Put this Browser:
Which ever Web browser the one you use, try using a new one. See if you still get this error. If not, then it is an issue with this Web browser you are using. If so, then it is an issue with the iOS. Get the Web browser from the App Store.
That worked in the short run. However after a period of time up jumped the google sign in prompt again! I have my Apple email setup to receive mail from my google address, I think the mail credentials are separate from safari but wonder if this is why Google thinks I should login on safari. Seems illogical but, hummm
