Problems with ics-files in iCal

I no longer see downloaded ics files in iCal. The browser downloads the

file in good order and when I click on it I get a question ("Add

activity") in which calendar I want it. Make my choice and click OK and

then happens - nothing! This has worked perfectly until a few weeks ago

and I haven't upgraded or changed anything. (I'm still running Mac OSX

10.14.6 "Mojave" for specific reasons — but as I said, it has worked

great until recently.)

It sounds like you're having trouble locating your Calendar files. We can help.

You can follow these steps to Import or export calendars on Mac, and in the process you'll be able to choose where your exported calendar files are saved.

Thanks for reply. Have tried but it didn't help. I've made a new, special test

calendar to try. Everything works completely normal until the last step

ie I can download the ics file, open it and get the usual window where I

can choose which calendar I want it, click OK but then - nothing. The

event disappears and doesn't appear on any calendar at all
