I had a on odd message (“ WhatsApp couldn’t start. Please restart your iPhone if the problem persists”) two days after I updated my iOS to 16.5, on 23/05/2023. I have received two crash reports. You advised we let WhatsApp know, which I have, but a solution has not been forthcoming.
In one of the crash reports, it says the following:
”path” : “\/usr\/lib\/system\/libsystem_kernel.dylib”
Can you at least interpret the above? I am genuinely concerned.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

You can use the support link at the bottom left of every page of these forums. However, you really need to talk to Whatsapp support about problems with Whatsapp.
First, basic troubleshooting you can do yourself is to delete Whatsapp and re-install it.
I would also suggest you start your own thread as your issue seems largely unrelated to the subject of this thread (unless there was an automation involved that you didn't mention).
Alternatively, can someone provide me a way to advise Apple of this issue directly?

It seems I’m not the only one. I don’t know if it’s an Apple issue or What’s App, but I hope they’re working on a patch for this
Open settings > shortcuts > toggle iCloud sync off and then on again
Then check the automation again
My problem got resolved using this
