Apple Savings when Apple card is closed

You should talk to Goldman Sachs to determine how they want to handle your situation. When the co-owner left, the joint Apple Card account was closed. The Apple Savings account was linked to that Apple Card account, as an individual savings account, to you. The Terms & Conditions state an Apple Card account must be maintained in good standing. I suspect they’ll want you to reapply for an Apple Card account and then they may transfer your Apple Savings account to a new account, and close the old account. Went through a similar situation. According to the GS rep, once a savings acct is closed, GS will not issue another savings account unless a new device and AppleID is created. Apparently the GS account is tied to the Apple ID and physical device ID.

Any account balance at closure will be sent via check or you have the option to transfer funds electronically before closure.

What I wrote in early May was best guidance at the time. That’s always the issue with time traveling and commenting on an old post, things change.

Just from what I’ve read across multiple platforms, GS is closing accounts once all the data is synced across the systems.

I might take what the GS “specialist” told me with a grain of salt then. Not sure how long ago you closed your credit card with them but it should take 30-90 days max to cycle through, I’d imagine.

I am closing my CC as soon as my funds are transferred from my savings acct just to be sure, and then will open a new cc acct and see what happens.
