Memory upgrade

I have just purchased a new iMac with 8 Gb of unified memory (larger capacity machines are virtually impossible to get at the minute) I wanted a higher capacity machine so I would like to increase the unified memory if possible. I would imagine that I could use an external SSD drive if I need extra storage in the future but I would really like to increase the unified memory. Thank you in anticipation.

Have a look at this support article but with newer model iMacs I suspect you cannot change the memory after purchase. Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support
