my iMac M1 keeps requiring a password when it wakes from sleep. how can i emove this annoyance?

just give me step by step instruction how to turn the requirement off. Sign in, that’s fine but not every time it comes out of sleep.

Depends on which version of macOS you're running. Monterey and earlier, Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. Disable Require password…


In Ventura, System Settings > Lock Screen. Set Require password to Never.
