How to autoplay next episode of an Apple Podcast?

I would like Apple Podcast to automatically play the next episode in a series, but I cannot figure out how to do this.

Currently, when Apple Podcast is done playing one episode of a series, e.g., Wondery+, instead of playing the next episode it cues up to something entirely different, or stops playing altogether. Then I have to go through the process of searching through menus until I find the next episode I want.

I've searched online, but the instructions I've found so far don't appear to correspond to the Apple Podcast version I'm using. This should be simple, right? Any suggestions? Thanks.

This is the same thing I’m finding… for some reason when I’m playing a podcast that let’s say podcast A… it will finish episode 1 and instead of auto playing episode 2 which is available, it starts playing podcast B, then C… needs to be a way that you auto play next episode within a podcast, and not shuffle between all of our followed podcasts

I ended up getting an iPhone 5s as a podcast phone it only has 32GB. If you touch the three dots upper right corner and choose settings you can choose oldest to newest or newest to oldest.

From the settings wheel on the main screen choose continuous play or turn off continuous play. It will play all of that podcast one after the other. It works with CarPlay too.

I know this is an older post, but I actually had the same question. When I saw that no one had an answer for it, I went to the app and clicked on everything, and I think I found it. The podcast that I’ve been listening to, I followed it, added it to queue and put them in order from oldest to newest. If you click on your library, go to your shows, click on one of them. When the show comes up, click the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner and click the option that says “Play Next”. I haven’t listened to it yet, but I have a feeling that will do it, when I listen to it while I’m at work. I work prep at a restaurant and I’m constantly wearing gloves, so having to change gloves, because my podcast decides to switch to a different show instead of the next episode, becomes a little irritating. Hope this helps someone because I came here looking for the same answer as all of you!

This is because with the latest update you can’t continuously play in reverse order. Play episode one and it will autoplay the rest. The only option is to then display the podcast in chronological order. However if the podcast you play has thousands of podcasts you spend 10 minutes scrolling to find the last podcast. You could do this in version 16.

So I listen mainly to 1 podcast. I had the global setting continuous playback. And the podcast setting oldest to newest. they played like that. But, I had so many old ones and was tired of listening to old news, I changed the podcast setting ( not global setting ) , newest to oldest. That did not help. But, I then in the global settings disabled continuous playback and now I get them in order, newest to oldest. BUT, that one particular podcast stays in the que, newest to oldest , when I switch to another podcast !!!
