Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

"Time Machine could not back up the disk “Macintosh HD” because it is nearly full. Delete some files on this disk and try again."

Time Machine has stopped backing up, giving me the above message. The backup external drive is mainly empty.

Mac mini, macOS 13.4

It is telling you that your primary drive (the one you are backing up, not the target destination for the backup) is too full, Time Machine needs space to work with when it handles the backup. So this means you need to free up more space on your primary drive. After doing that, empty the Trash and restart to see if that resolves it.
