apple tv does not remember episode I’m on or what I’ve watched

Watching an Apple TV box. It used to remember then did an update and now doesn’t. Have restarted every device multiple times. I want it to go back to remembering where I am on a series.

Verify that the active account is your account, if there are multiple accounts for this device.
Verify that Use Viewing History (Mac) and/or Use Play History (other devices) is activated in the app’s Preferences/Settings. Apple TV box: Settings﹥Apps﹥TV﹥Use Play History
