I bought an iPhone 12 a few years ago and was told I had to buy a new charger as the old charger wouldn’t work. After a few months it stopped charging without my unplugging it and plugging into a new outlet (had to be a different outlet). I visited my in-laws and they had the same problem. They bought a wireless charger. When I got home I used my old charger from an earlier iPhone and I no longer have the problem.
