I’m trying to reset my Apple Watch to my new iPhone and the Apple ID has been changed since I set it up. How can I retrieve it?

How can I retrieve an old Apple ID? It’s been changed since I set up my Apple Watch on my old iPhone. I have a new phone and wiped my watch. My phone requires the id.

To disable the Activation Lock for your Apple Watch, you will need the Apple ID and the Apple ID password, that has been used to set up the watch.

The Apple ID password can be reset by following the steps in this article:

Turn off Activation Lock on the web


If you can't access your iPhone or Apple Watch, or if your Apple Watch isn't paired with your iPhone and you need to turn off Activation Lock:


  1. Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. 
  2. From the Quick Access Menu in the top right, select Find My. You might be required to sign in.
  3. Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.
  4. Click Erase Apple Watch. Select Next until the device is erased.
  5. Click the remove button  next to your Apple Watch.
