iOS screen off battery drain

My iPhone's Screen Off usage seems to have increased (take a look at the last 10 day usage image below, it shows a spike from Wednesday). The phone drains out when not is use. Leaving it idle at <30% drains to 0 in <4 hours. The Battery Usage by App seems normal and does not show anything alarming. Any idea what could be the cause or fix here?

The device is an iPhone 12 with the battery health is at 89% (Peak Performance Capability).

Note: This happened around the time I updated to iOS 16.5.

Do you have Background App Refresh enabled on your device? Changing that setting may help to resolve this, and it will also help us to isolate this issue further. You can read more about Background App Refresh and other settings that can affect battery performance here:
