Storage is “full” on WhatsApp

Everytime I open WhatsApp, I can’t use it, saying that my storage is full and that I should clear at least 50MB of space on my iPhone’s storage even though I have 30GB of storage left on my phone and 40+GB of storage left on my iCloud. Please help.
