Help with iPhone 7 Passcode

After update, iPhone 7 wants passcode. Any other way to move past this without erasing the phone. Helping my aunt and she never set up Apple ID, Find My, or an auto backup (ugh!)

No means to reset a forgotten passcode without a device reset.

The passcode is the decryption key for the data.

With no backups, only that data copied elsewhere can be recovered.
