Trouble with pairing new apple watch

Bought a series 8 Apple Watch and I can’t pair it with my iPhone 13, iOS version 16.1.2.


The message that I get is that I need a newer iOS version, but my iPhone has the latest iOS.


How can I pair them?

The latest version of software for your iPhone 13 is iOS 16.5.1 (c). Go to Settings/General/Software Update and get your phone up to date to enable pairing to your new Apple Watch.
