Cannot Connect Apple TV to Wifi

My 2.5 year old Apple TV stopped working and wouldn’t connect to the internet. I reset it to factory settings and it wouldn’t let me even set up my new account via my phone or connect to the Wi-Fi manually.

I removed the Apple TV from my Samsung Frame TV and installed the Apple TV from my guest room. It was connected to the internet and working, but it had a past guests user information logged in. It wouldn’t let me connect my Apple ID as an additional user.

so, I reset this Apple TV to factory settings and this one now will not allow me to set it up using blue tooth or connect to Wi-Fi.

The Wi-Fi password is correct. I’ve rebooted the modem. I’m at a total loss.

What is your model Apple TV box?

  1. Try the steps as mentioned in: If your Apple TV can't connect to Wi-Fi - Apple Support
  2. Try the ‘Other…’ option instead of selecting a listed discovered network. Especially if the password has been changed.
  3. For Apple TV (4th generation or earlier), verify that the router or access point isn’t set to use WPA3, as only device models from ~2018 or later support that. Instead use ‘WPA2/WPA3 Transitional’. Some users report that they had to set ‘WPA2’-only first.
