My Issue is I just updated my computer from a iMac Pro to a Mac Studio:
I have a older external hard drive 2020 that I did backups on 6T - now I am unable to move those backup files to a new external hard drive 28T- I have the new external hard drive set up as time machine back up - but now it has the time machine icon on it and I can not move any files to it?
You can't move them to another drive. Not any more. So just plug in the old TM drive and access it as I mentioned in my previous reply. Then use the new external drive of continued backups.
