My only option for checking voicemail is to press 1 and hold it for a while. I do not get voicemail notifications of any kind. All of my settings are correct.
This problem has existed off & on for years. Can anyone offer a solution?

If you have to press 1 to check vm, then that means your line isn't provisioned by your phone carrier to use visual voicemail, contact yours to resolve the issue.
