I cant upgrade my OS to Monterey - it keeps saying in need to free up more space despite having 39GB free

I have a MacbookAir 2017. I'm on Catalina 10.15.7. I had 39.15GB free and downloaded the Monterey which is about 12.5GB and it keeps saying it needs 2GB more - no matter how much space I free up

FWIW, Monterey requires at least 25GBs free to install. If you still have 39GBs free, try installing while in Safe Mode.
