When I am typing a text message and someone speaks in the background, their words appear in my message. How can I stop that?
There is a mic icon on the keyboard. It is for speech to text, so just turn it off.

It's possible to press that little microphone button by mistake, if you're holding the phone by the corner. So just be aware of that, and maybe you can avoid pressing it in the first place.
