The Wi-Fi does not connect and there is an error in Network Preferences. Therefore, there is no internet connection to this Mac. How do you fix this issue?

It could be possible that it may be hardware related issue. You'd better check your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports network related error.

Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support

If it doesn't help or error is reported, try to contact Apple Support or take your MacBook Pro to your local retail AppleStore, Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Pro there.

Network Preferences is a supervisory "app" that loads each of the component preference panes to allow you to make changes. When one of those preference panes will not load for some reason, it is vanishingly rare that it is a hardware problem.

It is much more likely to be an issue with MacOS OR something you have ADDED to MacOS interfering with loading that preference pane component.

Once you get that 'Network' preference pane loaded and opened, THEN a problem could be caused by associated hardware.

I followed the Apple Diagnostics link you shared and proceeded by pressing on D & Option-D after startup. However, it required access to internet to proceed for Apple Diagnostics.

The initial issue in this case was the inability to connect for Wi-Fi, therefore this solution did not work.

Thanks for the reply, do let me know if you have any other solution.
