Location Services not working on iPhone

My Iphone11 Pro got problems with Location Service after updating to the latest IOS 16.6. Even if I try to reset Location Service, restart apps or restart the device. Seems that all my apps that using Location Service fail to get location and get stuck. For example, Weather App, Yr App (another weather app) , and Google Map. Please consider fix this error ASAP.

In Weather App, there is a cross out on the Location sign at the bottom left of the page.

In Yr app, the default Location base forecast is keep show running sign.

And in Google map, the current location show the previous one 1-2 hour before and stop at that location, navigating is not work.

All these app already set Location Service to “Always”.

My daughter and I hv the iPhone 13 and never had problems sharing location. For the past couple weeks it says no location found even tho we have everything set correctly (airplane mode is not on, location is on, find my app is on etc) . Also my elderly mom always allows me to see her location n it's say no location found and even if I try to request location it says "request location unavailable " please help with this..yes all phones are updated to 17.1.1

My Trial-and-error works but just you will miss an important feature, Find my phone. I turned off the feature Find My iPhone. Now all my location service is back to normal.

First, in settings, search the Location Services, then in Share My Location, turn off Find My iPhone.

Second, you need to reset the settings->general-Transfer or reset iPhone->reset->Reset Network Settings.

After it is back. then re-attach to WiFi and other stuffs, allow apps to use location services, etc. as normal.

It works for me for a day now. I think it is fine, but Find My iPhone is important. Waiting for the real fix.

How is your solution? Is this method really fix the problem? I tried the same but only reset the Location Service.( I don’t want to lose my network setting), it only works for a period, the problem still exist. if you confirm that your solution is work, I may have no choice for losing all my network settings.

We have three iPhone SE 2020s and still have the GPS issues with iOS 17. It started with 16.6 and has continued on. We do a full Erase All Content and Settings and that fixes it temporarily but within a day, it loses the GPS again.

Any suggestions on getting it to work without doing a full reset each time?

Yes, that is correct. Me too. It works for a while and gone. Not sure how to solve it now. Support asked to reset the settings->general-Transfer or reset iPhone->reset->Reset Network Settings. This also works for a while and doesn't work after that.

Thanks for your info. I heard someone did the reset and reinstalled IOS from Apple store’s genius bar laptop. Even with that routine, the problem still exist. Glad to here that it works for you. Please kindly update us if your problem is really gone, may be another week later.

I just replaced my brand spanking new iPhone15 Pro with another because of all the malfunctions I’ve had. It took an act of God and left me in a very precarious position but I’m hopeful the new phone will be better functioning. Meanwhile, I cannot recommend the 15 to anyone. Location, wifi, CarPlay, battery issues, unable to charge, overheating, crackling noises (loud popping like a fire is going to start) when typing intermittenly, dying in the middle of nowhere, and more…. Oddly, Apple. Freely admits many of these issues and put the phone out anyway. Meanswhile, none of my apple devises are working for location services now even though they’re turned on. I drank the coolaid years ago, but I may have to rethink Apple products for the first time in years.

I also figured out Find My was causing this issue. I am able to get back by rebooting or using buttons to reset my iphone 12 pro. But then cannot open Find My or else issue returns. Ipad that I have does not have this issue, only iphone after latest update IOS 16.6.
