Only upload photos to iCloud

Hello all

I was wondering if there was a way to only upload photos to icloud, instead of downloading the photos from all other devices?

This would help to conserve storage space.

iCloud Photos is meant for syncing the libraries across all your devices, to have an identical Photos Library on all your devices, with iCloud as the central storage. You can save storage on your devices by enabling "Optimize Storage" instead of "Download originals" in the Photos > Settings > iCloud on each of your devices. Then you will still be seeing all photos as thumbnails, but iCloud will remove high resolution originals from the devices, when the storage gets low and keep only the last recently photos mirrorerd locally, as space permits.
