Since the last MacOS Update (13.5) the Apple Watch doesn't unlock the MacBook Pro 16inch (2019) anymore. Every time I want to activate the function again, it fails with the output, that the watch needs to be logged into my iCloud account, which it is. The watches unlock-macos-function still works fine on my other MacBook Pros with older MacOS versions. Tried to restart both devices and ensured they are in the same WiFi.

I found that macOS System Settings -> Touch ID & Password -> Apple Watch -> Use Apple Watch to unlock our applications and your Mac, was disabled. I turned it back on, and it works fine again.

I understand the frustration. Direct your attention to Unlock your Mac with your Apple Watch - Apple Support, and in particular the section If you need help.
Step 2 is important.
Assuming you did all that, I recommend that you do nothing and forget about it for a while. After about a day mine spontaneously started working again. I did nothing.
Thanks for your response guys, unfortunately it still doesn't work even after going through all required steps. I'll wait a few days, to see if it comes good again but it's frustrating.
Unbelievable but it suddenly started working again. You were right John! I did nothing and it started working again and activated itself again. Thanks for your answers anyway guys. Appreciate it.
