only way to print to a printer from an iphone is

1. if the printer support apples printer std called apple print Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
2. if you get get some printing app made by hp from the app store of the iphone

If it is an AirPrint-enabled model, and all settings are OK but there is a detection problem, you may want to try the following procedure (do not forget the router):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the iPhone, and all other computers and devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPhone. Finally, power on all other computers and devices.
