I want to stop numbering sequences in pages. I’ve tried clicking on numbers which got it started but now I don’t want any more numbers, edit didn’t work? I can’t continue my work because every time I I hit return another number appears. How do I stop it??

Are you referring to page numbers, or to numbered lists? To end a numbered list just press Enter twice at the end of the last list item you want numbered.
