How can I get a word count for only part of a document?

With a document open in Pages for iPadOS, tap the icon between the < and the open filename. There will be a Show Word Count on that menu and when you select that, the word count will be displayed at the bottom of the open document, or just above an open on screen keyboard.


If you have a selection of words (e.g. a paragraph), then that will be the word count shown.
