I can’t add my email to my iPad

I have a 5th gen iPad Pro and I can’t add my email - I have added several in the past. It says my email address is invalid because it is already taken?? I really need to get into my email🙃

Email accounts are added to your iOS/iPadOS devices here:

Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account


If you are attempting to enable/access the Apple Mail account associated with your AppleID, this is enabled elsewhere in iPad settings:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > [Apps Using iCloud] iCloud Mail > Use On This iPad - set to ON
