My iMac zooms and highlights areas I'm using if hit the spacebar.

My iMac zooms and highlights areas, when I use the spacebar during typing. When it happens it will not even allow me to put spaces between words. This seems to happen out of the blue. Because I can type for a bit before it occurs. Esc does not make it go away. Instead, it highlights folders I'm not even using. I've checked the shortcuts but can find nothing that uses the space bar. I'm using a iMac 24" M1. I have tried to do a screenshot of the highlighted area and it just goes away until I close the screenshot app.

iMac 24″, macOS 13.5
