New Max mini HDMI issue

When I attach my Lenovo Q 27–10 monitor to a new M2 Mac mini via hdmi cable …monitor reads “no signal”

tried using a new 4K capable cable… Nothing… Tried using usb-C port using an HDMI conversion cable…nothing

tested using USB-C to USB-C on a different monitor, it works fine. My Lenovo does not have USB-C capability. I really don’t want to throw it out. It’s a really good monitor.

It's a 2560x1440 pixel monitor. It has both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs. I would think that you'd have no problem using HDMI to HDMI, USB-C (DisplayPort) to HDMI, or USB-C (DisplayPort) to DisplayPort.

A Google search found this Lenovo Communities thread where people were reporting problems getting the monitor to work with the M1 Mac Mini.

The thread suggested two fixes:

Using a HDMI to HDMI connection, but setting the refresh rate on the Lenovo display to 60 Hz, instead of 75 Hz.
Using a USB-C (DisplayPort) to DisplayPort connection
