PayPal sign in freezing

Hi all,

Recently I can no longer log into my PayPal account on my iPad pro or my iPhone 12. I get to the log in screen and enter my email and password and the blue wheel just keeps spinning.


I’ve checked my apple payment methods and PayPal is the active account method for payment on both iPad & iPhone.

I’ve done a reboot on both devices and still no go. 🤷‍♀️


I am able to log in on my Mac thank goodness, however I’d really like to know why the log in issue has arisen on iOS as these 2 devices are what I mainly use.


Any help from the community would be much appreciated.

It's great that you have already confirmed you are able to log into your PayPal on your Mac. The next thing we want to check is the iOS and iPadOS versions installed on your devices, as those both are having an issue.

I have the same issue now for a couple years. Every once in a while, I check to see if someone figured it out. PayPal works just fine on either my Mac or Windows machines and has for ever. A couple years ago, from either my iPhone or iPad, if I try to check out for a purchase or just log into my account, after entering my username and password, I get a forever spinning wheel over the place where I'm supposed to enter the authorization code. Several versions of iOS and padOS AND a new iPhone. Same. It NEVER works from a mobile device. ALWAYS works find from a laptop. Right now my phone is on iOS 16.6.1.


I spent a couple hours a while back on PayPal support and made no progress. In the end, I was told that they would report this to the devs and get back to me. That did not happen and I will not go there again.


The copied then posted and re-copied and re-copied and re-posted advice about version, clearing cache, etc., is not helpful. If there is some actual advice or steps to try, I'd really like to know about them.


I am sure that merchants are losing sales because of this issue. I'm really surprised that someone is not picking this up as an urgent issue but there are complaints going back years. I know I've given up before.
