back up my iphone se using itunes 12.10.2.3 for mac

I try to back up my iphone se 2022 using my old mac book pro using itunes 12.10.2.3 but i can't . It's a matter of OS or iTunes version?

What iOS version is on your iPhone? If it is iOS 17, it may very well be that you need a newer version of iTunes.
