What are the colored bars on each day of the forecast supposed to represent and why are the all different lengths?

The length visually represents the difference between the high and low temperature. A day that has a low of 52º and a high of 82º (30 degree difference) will have a longer bar than a day with a low of 50º and a high of 60º (10 degree difference).

Blue represents colder and red hotter with other shades between.
