Apple News “Saved” and “History” missing

At some point I became unable to find my saved articles in Apple News. I can save the article but my selection to go to the saved articles is missing. I also no long have a history selection. Additionally, I am no longer able to return to my news feed generally once I select a topic or channel. This happened with some update (not sure which one). I am on an IPad Pro 3rd Generation with IpadOS 17.0.3. What can I do to get my saved and history selection back?

Try a forced-restart of your iPad - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)

Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, the next step is to delete and re-add the News App:

After deleting the New App, a further restart is recommended before re-installing the App from the App Store.
