No the iPad has not been fixed yet, yesterday before the update to 17.1 it worked without problems ... after the update it could not scan the fingerprint anymore, then I wanted to add another finger in the settings at code, that was not possible either. I restarted the iPad 2-3 times (without changing anything).
This morning, miraculously, I was able to unlock the iPad with my finger again... It's strange.

I have absolutely same problem with my iPad 5 after updating to 17.0.3 from 16.x.
Couple of times after several restarts I could unlock with Touch ID but generally it doesn’t work anymore and just write alert that “Touch ID couldn’t be initialized”.
I hope in a next versions of iPadOS Apple will fix problem. Because now I am using everywhere password and it’s not comfortable at all. :(
What do you mean by "not working"? Has the iPad been repaired?

I asked service center about repair and they said that I can only exchange it by warranty. the touchId sensor is the only part that can not be repaired or replaced. Sounds strange.
