Not possible. If you need a phone which can run iOS 16, you need a newer, more modern iPhone.

An iPhone 7 plus can only be updated to iOS 15.8.2. If you need a higher version, you will need to purchase a newer phone.

iOS 12.5.7 is the latest iOS security update for iPhone 6.

👉 iPhone 6 can’t be update to a higher iOS (13 and later).

iOS 16 would require that you have an iPhone 8 or higher model. The iPhone 7 Plus can't handle iOS 16.

iOS 12 is the end of the line for the iPhone 6 – a phone released about nine and a half years ago.

You might want to do this, but you cannot do this.

If you want to run iOS 16, you must have an iPhone 8 or higher model.

If your iPhone is an iPhone 6, it cannot update to iOS 16. For that matter, it cannot update to iOS 13 or higher. It can only update as far as the current release of iOS 12 – currently iOS 12.5.7.

You will need to have an iPhone 8 if you want to run iOS 16.
