iPad 9 won't connect to TV when it used to

I used to use my personal iPad generation 9 to show uploaded Sunday School lessons to children, using HDMI cords and Apple adapters. I recently bought another iPad 9 to use for the same purpose. I've also been using two iPad8s connecting them by HDMI cords and Apple adapters. The iPad 8's still work beautifully but neither of the iPad 9's will connect to any of the TVs. Please help!
