Time and Date incorrect, Safari not connecting to Server

I haven’t turned my MacBook Pro on in a few weeks, now I have turned it on the date is stuck on 30 November (this wasn’t the last date I turned it on) and the time is wrong. Safari is unable to connect to the server and all Microsoft apps are unable to connect to the network. I have manually reset the date and time but safari still not did connect to the server and the date and time reset to the 30 November when I restarted it.

A separate issue, but about a month ago the “documents” and “desktop” shortcuts disappeared from finder.

Any help is appreciated.

the battery is used to maintain the date&time chip. you will continue to lose the date&time until the battery holds a charge.

Once you have a charge in the battery, date&time should be maintained across a restart, and encrypted connections should start working again. need to be within five minutes if internet time to keep working
